The Mike Tyson Jake Paul bout is set for Saturday, July 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The countdown to one of the oddest boxing fights in recent history, Jake Paul vs Tyson on Saturday, July 20, is reaching the month mark.

The battle was announced in March, but it wasn’t until the following month that it was confirmed to be a sanctioned professional fight.

Tyson, 57, is still the youngest boxer to become heavyweight world champion, a feat he accomplished at the age of 20 in 1986 by stopping Trevor Berbick in the second round, and he went on to earn the undisputed title in a phenomenal career.

The boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul scheduled for July 20 will be sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Most Valuable Promotions announced Monday.

The heavyweight bout will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex., and be contested over eight rounds of two minutes each. The fighters will wear 14-ounce gloves, as opposed to 8 or 10 ounces typical in professional matches.

“Mike Tyson and Jake Paul signed on to fight each other with the desire to do so in a sanctioned professional fight that would have a definitive outcome,” Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement. “Over the past six weeks MVP has worked with its partners to satisfy the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations to sanction Paul vs. Tyson, and we are grateful that we have gotten to this point.”
