Though the 58-year-old American hasn’t competed professionally in 19 years, Mike Tyson is considered one of the best heavyweight champions in the history of the sport. Indeed, his bout with Paul, a popular YouTuber, will be a sanctioned professional bout.
The fight’s tone is still unknown, although it will be based on both men’s records—Paul is 10-1 (7 KOs), while Tyson is 50-6 (44 knockouts).
The 27-year-old American Paul has defeated a number of former UFC fighters and lesser-known professional boxers; his only defeat came against Tommy Fury, the half-brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, last year.
Five months after Tyson’s health crisis on a flight, which caused the bout to be postponed from July to November, the contentious YouTuber will now square off against Tyson.
When is the fight?
The fight will take place on Friday 15 November at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The stadium, with a capacity of 80,000, is the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
The event will begin at 1am GMT on Saturday 16 November (5pm PT, 7pm CT, 8pm ET on Friday). No time has yet been announced for the Paul vs Tyson ring walks, but they are expected at around 4am GMT on Saturday (8pm PT, 10pm CT, 11pm ET on Friday).
How to watch Paul vs Tyson weigh-in?
Paul’s boxing promotion organisation, Most Valuable Promotions, and Netflix are both streaming the weigh-in live and for free.
Coverage is planned to begin Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 1am UK time, and continue through Friday, November 15, 2024.
